How does it last 12 months?
Firstly it's size. It's 30g vs the 4.5g you get from a standard lip balm tube which is 7x bigger and from testing, 12 months was a conservative estimate with regular use.
Secondly, we tested it. It went through rigorous stabilisation testing at various temperatures from 2c to 40c and the result gave us a 12 month stability. Likely this is more but safety and being able to claim shelflife, it's 12 months.
One of the big factors that keeps this stable is no water or fragrances. Water in products is the thing that guarantees eventual bacterial growth unless tonnes of chemical nasties are used. Fragrances can also destabilise and spoil
Is the formula vegan?
No. All ingredients are but with the sole exception of Beeswax.
We're currently using beeswax from mixed sources, but bees are very important and special to Thom and we're currently looking for a reliable and sustainable UK beeswax supplier.
Is Phatstix suitable for sensitive skin?
The formula has been kept as simple as possible with no colourants, no fragrance or flavourings, no stabilisers, and no artificial preservatives. Phatstix has been fully safety tested and assessed.
However, to claim suitability for sensitive skin, a brand should ideally perform full clinical testing on sensitive skin users. We have not conducted this specific testing (yet) and, therefore, will not make such a claim without substantiated evidence.
Nonetheless, Phatstix was designed by and for its creator, Thom Watson, who has dealt with eczema, particularly on his lips, for many years. He found that Phatstix helped him significantly.
Does Phatstix have any scent or flavour?
Phatstix is formulated without any added fragrances or flavourings.
The balm has a natural, mild scent that comes from the ingredients themselves, such as the butters and oils used in the formula. This makes Phatstix suitable for those who prefer or require unscented products.
Is Phatstix tested on animals?
No, absolutely not. Phatstix is not tested on animals. Our founder Thom spent a lot of his early career working with campaigns to actively defend the rights of animals.
Phatstix is committed to cruelty-free practices and ensure that our product(s) are not tested on animlals
Are Phatstix suitable for Children?
Phatstix have been formulated with no nasties, no colourants, no fragrance or flavourings, no stabilisers, no artificial preservatives. fully with natural ingredients and has undergone full safety testing.
However, it has not been specifically tested for use on children. We recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before using Phatstix on children, particularly those under the age of three or with known skin sensitivities.
Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin first to ensure there are no adverse reactions.
